Principle:
Peptone, beef extract powder provides carbon, nitrogen, vitamins and minerals; lactose, sucrose and salicin to fermentable sugars; bile salts, sodium deoxycholate, bromothymol blue and acidic fuchsin suppression gram-positive bacteria; sodium chloride to maintain osmotic equilibrium; sodium thiosulfate and ferric ammonium citrate for the detection of hydrogen sulfide, so that the center of black colonies; agar is medium coagulant; bromothymol blue and acid fuchsin as pH indicator.

Peptone 12g
Beef extract powder 3g
Lactose 12g
Sugar 2g
Salicin 9g
Bile salt 9g
Sodium chloride 5g
Agar 14g
Bromothymol blue 0.065g
Acid fuchsin 0. 1g
Sodium thiosulfate 5g
Ferric ammonium citrate 1.5g
Final pH7.5 ± 0.2
 
How to use:
1.Suspend 72.7g in 1 L of distilled water , stirring heated to boiling and pour into sterile plates. Do not autoclave this medium.
2.Diluted and treated samples.
